FNC's mission is Bat Conservation through education. To that
end, we provide products and services centered around bats
and their natural gifts
Frio Nature Conservancy, Inc., (A Non-Profit Organization)
based in Aransas Pass, Texas began taking samples of bat
droppings and sending them to a Canadian lab for DNA
testing. The lab checks for the presence of infected
mosquitoes. This technology along with radar imagery
enables FNC to track the bat and mosquito population and
with DNA can determine the risk factor of infested
mosquitoes at a rate far greater than ever before.
With our current technology we are able to track the vector
mosquito and provide target specific data for working with
community experts and public officials to target the vector
mosquito's natural vulnerabilities to allow safer less toxic
methods to achieve the desired level of public safety. Where
larvicide's and adulticidies are required our target specific
tracking system will allow for increased efficiency at a lower
cost.
Spraying for mosquitoes is no longer a shot in the dark.
Armed with this new information protecting and helping with
